Hydration hints.

Water is the essence of life. You need a lot of it to stay healthy and feeling great. On average, 64 ounces of water a day is optimal. You need even more when you exercise, though. In general, it’s a good idea to take in fluids even if you are not thirsty and to have a drink of something (preferably water) with every meal and snack.

If you don’t like water’s taste (or lack thereof), you can add lemon or lime juice for a tangy kick. Do whatever it takes to get enough, or your body won’t operate at maximum capacity. Worst-case scenario (especially in the sweltering heat of summer), you may be paying a visit to the emergency room for an IV.
