Fight the bulge and the bug! Exercise can stop that cold before it starts!

Here’s yet another reason to keep moving when the mercury drops. Some studies show that regular exercise can reduce your chances of catching and keeping (and keeping, and keeping) a cold or an upper respiratory infection. So bundle up, slip on some athletic shoes, and go out for a brisk stroll. Your immune system will thank you for keeping it strong all year long!

And just a note on exercising when you’re already sick: If you are already suffering from a cold, it’s okay to continue with your regular routine if you feel bad only from the neck up. However, if you feel crampy due to muscular aches or have a fever, relax for a few days or until you feel like yourself again. And of course, eat a diet rich in fruits and vegetables to nourish your system and put you back on the road to health!
